Dr. Sarah Coren

I’m a clinical psychologist known for a warm, grounded approach to working with teens, young adults, and parents—helping them navigate anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, and identity development.

As the founder of CC Psychology, my mission is simple: to bring Compassion and Connection into every session, creating a space where real emotions meet real tools—no jargon, no judgment, just meaningful progress.

I’m licensed in Florida (FL) and New York (NY) and all PSYPACT authorized states. With advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP), I combine evidence-based expertise with an approach that’s authentic, collaborative, and deeply human. Rooted in the latest research, our work together is built on trust, understanding, and respect—so clients feel truly heard, seen, and supported. By blending clinical skill with warmth and just the right amount of humor, we make hard conversations feel more approachable—and healing more attainable.

Our Expertise

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a group of evidence-based treatments for anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors - teaching clients how to challenge unhelpful thoughts, face fears and challenges directly, and become more actively engaged in life. These skills reduce avoidance and lead to deep, lasting change.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT helps clients build a meaningful life by developing skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. When indicated, I am able to offer full-model DBT, including phone coaching for clients in a DBT skills group. For others, I often integrate DBT tools to better support anxiety, depression, and OCD to improve outcomes.

Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is a specialized form of CBT for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Clients gradually face feared situations that trigger obsessive thoughts (“exposures”) while fighting urges to engage in their compulsions (“response prevention”), helping reduce distress over time. This process reduces avoidance, builds emotional resilience, and empowers clients to move through fears with greater confidence.

Parenting Support

Parent-based therapy, including Parent Management Training (PMT) and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), help caregivers change their own behaviors to more effectively navigate conflict, reduce problem behaviors in their child, improve family communication, reduce unhelpful accommodations, and support their child’s emotional needs.
